A dumbell rack is a piece of equipment that is used to hold dumbbells, also known as free weights or weights.

Dumbells are weights that are commonly found in different levels of heaviness, starting at one pound, and going all the way up to 50 pounds or more. Dumbells are usually used two at a time, one in the right hand, and the other in the left hand, to strengthen and tone the user’s muscles.

How to use your dumbell rackabout dumbell rack

Dumbells are usually used in conjunction with different exercises. In any home gym, dumbbells stacked on a dumbell rack are a convenient way of picking up and replacing yor weights, without having to bend down to floor level, which is bad for your back, when overdone.

The dumbell rack replaces a table, as it is dangerous to place weights on a table, because they can roll off onto someone’s foot, or worse.

There is the adjustable dumbell, and fixed weight dumbell rack, that are available in many different sizes and shapes. An adjustable dumbell is made of long steel that looks like a miniature barbell. The sizes and weights can be either decreased or increase by replacing weight discs.

The more famous or familiarly used dumbells are the fixed weight dumbbell; these are made of cast iron and sometimes covered with rubber for protection against chafing of the palms of the hands of the user. A fixed weight dumbbell is filled with plastic shells and concrete.

A dumbell rack  is for safety, convenience, and a clutter-free space

A dumbell rack can organize dumbells on two or three levels. These dumbbell racks are used to lessen the possibility of physical injuries. As dumbells can generally roll around, accidentally stepping on one can cause someone to fall on their backs and end up with a possible spinal injury. So don’t just store your weights on your dumbell rack at the end of your workout. Store them AS you finish working, to prevent someone tripping over them.

Some people who tend to use dumbells of different weights during their workout, use the racks to seggregate which dumbell to use first. In a home gym, the dumbell rack is usually stored against a wall, which is the safest place, in case someone knocks into it, as could happen if it was placed in the centre of the room.
